Mr. Sowers recently joined McKenna Storer as Senior Trial Counsel. Mr. Sowers has practiced law for over 30 years representing both plaintiffs and defendants throughout the state of Illinois in professional negligence and business litigation matters. He also has represented numerous parties in complex litigation matters from automobile accidents to Drug Manufacturers including Merck and Company in their Nationwide Defense of Lawsuits regarding the drug Diethylstilbestrol (DES) and was involved in the Illinois Decision setting the standard of market share liability for the drug manufacturers at the time of the sale and distribution of DES. Zimmerman v. Abbot Labs, et al, 189 Ill.App.3d 744 (1st Dist. 1989. He was also the Trial Attorney in the seminal case in Illinois setting the parameters for which an officer and director may be removed under the Illinois Business Corporation Act. Tarin v. Pellonari, 253 Ill. App. 3d 542 (1st Dist. 1993). Don prides himself on attention to detail and the ability to work closely with a wide range of unique clients.
Don played college and semiprofessional baseball prior to and during undergraduate studies in Economics at DePaul University and received his Bachelors of Business Administration in 1982 from Texas Christion University (TCU).
He earned his Juris Doctor Degree from The John Marshall Law School in 1986.
