Jaime concentrates her practice on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies and business formation at the Woodstock and Chicago offices of McKenna Storer. She represents and advises debtors about options to resolve their financial difficulties, including restructuring and liquidation. She also represents the interests of creditors as they seek to collect debts owed to them from companies and individuals.
Jaime’s desire and ability to assist her clients extends to other areas of the law in addition to bankruptcy and debt relief. She also represents individuals in estate planning and estate administration, wills and trusts, and, for those who are considering entrepreneurship, she also advises and assists clients in the formation of businesses.
Prior to joining McKenna, Jaime worked at one of the largest consumer bankruptcy law firms in the country. It was while working with consumers that Ms. Dowell learned the importance of taking the time to explain the process and procedures to clients to help them to feel at ease.
Outside of the office, Ms. Dowell helped establish a bankruptcy help desk for debtors without attorneys in the bankruptcy courts in the Western and Northern Districts of Illinois, and she serves as an arbitrator on behalf of the Better Business Bureau hearing business disputes. She also volunteers her time at a number of civic and charitable organizations in the Chicago area.
